Motor Speedway.

About Leland: The Phoenix, Ariz. native began honing his racing skills at the tender age of two racing Quads. By four years old, he moved into Trophy Karts and then collected three series championships in off-road racing Trophy Karts.

After an instrumental tenure in Go Karts, he moved into the Bandolero competition in 2015 and was crowned a Bandolero National Champion two years later. From there, he moved into Limited Late Models before graduating to the Carolina Pro Late Model Series division in 2021, where he earned championship-runner-up honors and picked up an astounding victory in the annual Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway Fall Brawl.

Honeyman, 19, returns to the Mooresville, N.C.-based organization, where he ran an impressive ARCA Menards Series East Series campaign, finishing third in the 2022 championship standings.

During the 2023 season, he made eight NASCAR Xfinity Series starts, highlighted by a 21st-place finish at the Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway Road Course.

All-Aboard!: For the 30th of 33 NASCAR Xfinity Series races this season, Young’s Motorsports welcomes back LH Waterfront Construction to the Mooresville, N.C.-based team as the primary partner on the No. 42 Chevrolet Camaro for the 201-lap race on Saturday afternoon.

Since 1995, LH Waterfront Construction has been building custom homes and performing remodels at the highest level.

Leland Honeyman Jr. NASCAR Xfinity Series Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway Stats: Saturday afternoon’s Ambetter Health 302 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway will mark Honeyman’s second Xfinity start at the 1.5-mile race track located in Sin City.

In his track debut in March, Honeyman finished a track-best 18th after starting 19th in the 2024 edition of The LiUNA! NASCAR Xfinity Series Race for Young’s Motorsports.

This weekend is part of a doubleheader opening round of the Round of 8 in the NASCAR Playoffs with the Xfinity and Cup Series respectively.

Honeyman and the Young’s Motorsports team join the non-Playoff Xfinity Series teams looking to spoil the Playoff parade which continues on Saturday afternoon with the opening race of the semifinal round.

On Sunday, the NASCAR Cup Series will take the green flag in their penultimate championship round of 8 for a tense afternoon of racing in the South Point 400 on Sunday, Oct. 20.

The Xfinity Series rookie driver will look to improve his overall speedway average Xfinity finish of 23.9.

Leland Honeyman Jr. NASCAR Xfinity Career Stats: Entering Las Vegas, Honeyman has 37 career NASCAR Xfinity Series races to his credit, earning a career-best fourth-place finish at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway after starting 33rd in the Ag-Pro 300 for Young’s Motorsports in April 2024.

Since 2023, he has carried an average finish of 22.8.

Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway Road Course | Drive for the Cure 250 Race Recap: In the 29th race of the 2024 Xfinity Series season, Young’s Motorsports and Honeyman searched for another solid finish in the team’s Xfinity Series inaugural trip to the Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway Road Course.

Effectively known as the ROVAL, Honeyman took advantage of a productive morning of practice to qualify his No. 42 DPR Construction Chevrolet on speed in the 33rd position.

From the drop of the green, Leland mounted a charge toward the front and consistently ran lap times comparable to the top 20 despite not having the track position.

Through strategy, Honeyman ran a race-high third before having to make a scheduled pit stop for service.

Fighting for a top-20 finish, Honeyman would have to serve a stop-and-go penalty after a stack-up in the front stretch chicane forced the rookie driver to miss the final corner of the race track.

Giving it all and trying to recover from the penalty, Honeyman was challenging for a position inside the top 25 when his left front tire blew. This sent Honeyman into the tire barriers and forced the race into overtime.

The damage proved terminal for the team, leaving them with a frustrating 28th-place finish.

Calling the Shots: Guiding Honeyman Jr. as crew chief of the No. 42 Young’s Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro is longtime crew chief Andrew Abbott.

On Saturday, he will be crew chief in his 127th NASCAR Xfinity Series race. In his previous 126 races, he has four top-five and 13 top-10 finishes.

The season's 30th race will be his seventh tango at Las Vegas Motor Speedway as crew chief in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Young's Motorsports' NASCAR Xfinity Series at Las Vegas Motor Speedway: This weekend will mark Young's Motorsports' second NASCAR Xfinity Series start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Earlier this year, the team notched a track-best 18th-place finish after starting 19th with Honeyman behind the wheel.

Additionally, since 2014, the Mooresville, N.C.-based Young’s Motorsports Truck Series team has had an average starting position of 23.8 and an average finish of 21.2 in 31 Las Vegas Motor Speedway starts overall.

The organization posted a Truck Series team-best finish at the track of 10th with Xfinity Series standout Austin Hill at the wheel in the 2018 Stratosphere 200 on March 2, 2018.

Young's Motorsports' NASCAR Xfinity Series History: Since entering the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2024, the family-owned organization has logged 29 starts and maintains an average starting position of 27.5 and an average finish of 22.1.
